Nina Temple - Full CircleName: Nina Temple - Full CircleDate: April 6, 2017 - April 28, 2017Event Description:This April, the Marjorie Evans Gallery is proud to display the bold work of artist Nina Temple with her exhibit Full Circle. The title of this show reflects the story of Nina’s career, as she first started out as a fine art painter. From 1976-1980 she studied at the University of Southern Mississippi working on her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree where she was fortunate to have had master classes with Elaine de Kooning, Hiram Williams, and Ed McGowan. In 1979, she was one of twelve undergraduates chosen to attend a study abroad program put on by the University of Georgia where she spent five months studying in Cortona, Italy. She exhibited from 1979 through 1989 throughout the world including Italy; Berlin, Germany; Gobrovo, Bulgaria; Colorado Springs, CO; Jackson, MS; and Savannah, GA to name a few.
Her passion for color and design then led her to open Nina Temple Design, working as a graphic and web designer nationally, covering a variety of industries and markets over 28 years. In January 2015, she decided to close Nina Temple Design and return to what she loves most, painting. After not having painted for over 25 years and through the natural culmination of her life, experience, and career as a designer, she has created a body of artwork that reflects her pleasure with being back in the field of fine arts. Nina likes to think of this as coming “full circle.”
“I work in a very intuitive manner incorporating organic shapes, patterns, and veils of color with an emphasis on edge quality and a conscious use of acrylic on canvas. I have no idea how my paintings will evolve. I work in a variety of sizes and all of my work remains as originals."
The name of her painting studio is “alterudiostudio” which is currently preparing for a color conference titled Color Matters; the conference will deal with the psychology, science, and the art of color.
The Full Circle exhibit will be on display at the Marjorie Evans Gallery Monday through Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM, April 5 through 30, and is open to the public.
The Holman Highway 68 Roundabout will relieve congestion at the busy intersection of Holman Highway 68, Highway 1 ramps and 17 Mile Drive near the entrance to Pebble Beach and the Community Hospital.
