    On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, the Carmel Valley Women’s Club (CVWC) will host a luncheon with guest speaker Daniella Russo, CEO of Think Beyond Plastic, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley, CA. $45 per person for CVWC members, $50 per person for non-members. Reservations are required, no walk-ins. Reservations or cancellations must be received by 12:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2019. MENU - Fajita Buffet (Grilled Steak, Chicken, Vegetables) w/warm Tortillas, Black Beans and Rice, shredded Cheese, Pico De Gallo, Sour Cream and fresh Guacamole. Flan for dessert. GUEST SPEAKER - Daniella Russo, CEO of Think Beyond Plastic, will be our speaker this month. Think Beyond Plastic harnesses the forces of innovation and entrepreneurship and basic market powers to do good, to develop solutions for the global plastic pollution crisis. Toward that goal, it is focused on building and supporting the entire innovation eco-system comprised of innovators, industry and investors. Its ultimate goal is a circular economy for plastics. The Think Beyond Plastic Innovation Center is cultivating a deep, healthy and robust innovation pipeline for all areas of the circular economy for plastics. The flagship User Facility is developed in collaboration with Cal State University at Monterey Bay, with expansion into other worldwide locations through 2019. Russo is a professor at Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey. An entrepreneur with prior experience in executive business management, she believes in the power of innovation to address intractable and complex environmental challenges, which led her to become interested in sustainable business practices. In 2007, she launched an award-wining campaign with National Geographic, and in 2012 she introduced the unique business forum, Think Beyond Plastics.
